The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Sen. Matthew Urhoghide, has described the Presidential and National Assembly elections as very peaceful but added that all could not be said to be well until the whole election exercise was completed.

“This is my polling unit, unit 9, ward 2 in Oredo. Well, what I am seeing here, everything is going on well. There is no fighting against earlier rumour of invasion by foreigners and hoodlums and all of that. What I am seeing so far so good, it is smooth, I have voted and it did not take me sometime to vote.

“I am impressed with the turnout. Yes, you can see that the turnout is massive. I did not think of voters’ apathy because Nigerians are really zealous more than ever before. The political consciousness in the land is huge and the times too are telling the story because people really want to be part of those telling the story of who their leaders should be.

“To a large extent, let me say something, the question of trust should come at the end of the whole exercise. If eventually the event attract itself to a logical conclusion that of course meet the expectation of the greater majority of the people, we will say yes but at least their actions must satisfy all the people in Nigeria”, he said.

In Itohan Girls Grammar School, unit 36, ward 6, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, where member representing Ikpoba-Okha/Egor federal constituency, Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma cast his vote, the exercise was very peaceful. He commended the electorate for coming out in their large numbers to cast their votes.
