The influential League Bloggers Award has announced Bendel Insurance duo of Imade Osarenkhoe and Monday Odigie as winners of the Player and Coach of the month awards for January 2023, in the prestigious Nigeria Premier Football League.
The LBA is the foremost organisation recognizing and celebrating outstanding performers in the NPFL since 2009 and extended its reach to the second tier Nigeria National League and Women’s League, in 2017.
In a statement released by its Brand Communications department, Osarenkhoe and Odigie emerged winners for their impressive outings in the month under review.
To claim the famous Player Of The Month Award, Osarenkhoe scored four goals in four consecutive matches against Akwa United, Plateau United, Kwara United and Remo Stars, to edge teammates, Ismael Sarki and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, as well as Lobi Stars duo of Kumaga Suur, Joseph Atule and Plateau United’s goal scoring defender, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi.
On the other hand, Odigie, led his side to consecutive victories against Akwa United, Plateau United, Kwara United and highly rated Remo Stars, respectively. Odigie’s feat included massive results in away matches at Akwa United and Kwara United.
In both away matches, Insurance scored three goals and recorded a clean sheet.
Odigie pushed aside the trio of Remo Stars’ Daniel Ogunmodede, Lobi Stars’ Mohammed Baba Ganaru and Rivers United’s Stanley Eguma to win the LBA gong.
The duo will be presented with their awards at their next home match.
