The Light Bearers, Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo, Lagos and the Methodist Church Nigeria in partnership with an Indian hospital, Max HealthCare Hospital held a tourism retreat in Lagos.

The Cathedral also hosted its pioneer founding president, Aramide Noibi, who was among the 180 members of Methodist Church that were knighted recently at the Church’s 180th anniversary at Thomas Birch Freeman Memorial Cathedral, Badagry.

A send forth thanksgiving reception was organised in honour of the outgoing Presbyter of the Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo, Lagos, Sunday Oluwole Adegbola.

In his sermon, the Archbishop of Lagos, Methodist Church Nigeria, Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, extolled Noibi’s qualities, describing him as a spiritually tireless and unassuming servant of God, whose ultimate goal at all times is how best to continually improve the church, society and the entire humanity much better than he met them.

Noibi was once the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a Fellow of the NIPR. A public and media relations guru, he was the chief press secretary to the late Alex Akinyele that was minister of information, as well as the executive chairman, National Sports Commission.

He was the media relations coordinator throughout the 25-day-Barcelona World Olympics, when Nigeria got four medals, three silvers and one bronze.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion included Olawuyi, who was accompanied by his wife, Funmilaiyo, president of Arch-diocesan Women’s Fellowship of the church; former chaplain, John Olanrewaju Solubi of Bolaji Idowu Memorial Cathedral, Ikorodu, and John Kayode of the Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo, Lagos, among others.
