As part of effort to show love and care to victims of flooding in the country, the international association of Lions Club, District 404A1 Nigeria, recently provided relief items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)) in Delta State.
Governor of District 404A1 Nigeria, Monday John Onyeme, his wife, Catherine and other great Lions of the district visited IDPs camps located at Utagba-Ogbe Technical College Kwale, Acquisition Centre Ashaka, Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro and Edeme to distribute relief materials and sympathise with the flood victims.
The district governor at the various camps told the IDPs that he and his team have come to relieve them of their pains and sufferings knowing too well that the flood came unaware and a lot must have been lost as a result of it.
“Look at it as God’s blessing. It is a natural disasters that has occurred and we cannot question God, but in all things we should give thanks to him for our live. He prayed the immediate return of the flood as complete comfort can only be gotten at home,” he said.
Ndokwa East Local Government Chairman, Joan Isichei, lauded the district governor, who is also the executive chairman of DBIR, and the club. He encouraged the IDPs that the challenge is for a while, saying he understands their pains as most of them were suppose to be either in their homes or farmland. He urged them to live in peace and be their brother’s keeper.
