The Kogi State capital, Lokoja, was literally set on fire with jokes and wisecracks last weekend as the mega comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest, stormed the confluence city to entertain Globacom subscribers.

The Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, venue of the show was filled to the brim with fun lovers from all walks of life, savouring ingenious enactments from seven top-rated African comedians including Basket Mouth, Salvador from Uganda, Bovi Ugboma, Godwin Komone (Gordons), Dan D’Humorous, Bethel Njoku aka Senator, and Bash.

The curtain-raising act was by Bash who regaled the responsive audience with hilarious stories and anecdotes from his formative years while Senator, the next act, also gave a sterling performance. Salvador’s performance was initially lukewarm but picked up as he dazzled the audience with hilarious jokes that elicited huge applause. Next was Dan D’Humorous, who took the audience to higher refreshing echelon of fun and conviviality.

The big three namely Bovi, Gordons and Basket Mouth closed the evening of uncommon fun and excitement while Kannywood star, Sani Danja and Nollywood veteran, Kanayo O. Kanayo serenaded attendees with cameo appearances.

The show was compered by Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Ebube Nwagbo who engaged the audience with dancing and quiz competitions. The next stop for Glo Laffta Fest is Port Harcourt for an encore, before heading to Onitsha, Makurdi and Ajah in subsequent weeks.
