Operatives of Enugu State Police Command have arrested a 57-year-old man, Clement Enyi-Nwodo, a native of Akpakumenze, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, for allegedly defiling a nine year old primary school girl, Ebubechukwu.

It was gathered that Enyi-Nwodo a father of five who resides at No. 35 Aguabor in Trans Ekulu, Enugu was on September 28, 2018 caught red-handed in the amorous act by his children with the minor and reported it to their mother, Amuche and ever since he has been in police custody.

Narrating the incident to Daily Sun yesterday, at the state police headquarters the complainant, Awuja Emmanuel, a legal practitioner said the suspect is sharing the same residence with the girl who he had been luring with money and edibles to agree to his amorous overtures.

Awuja said that the cat was let out of the bag when the suspect’s wife, Amuche, came crying to the girl’s guardians, Mr and Mrs Bernard Awuja, co-tenants who incidentally was his elder brother that they should warn their ward to leave her husband alone.

Enraged by the starch revelation, the Awuja family was forced to call the police that arrested him for child defilement and moral torture.
He said that Enyi-Nwodo owns drinking joint where he lures the girl to the inner chamber with a threat to her life should she tell her guardians.

A police source told our reporter that when the little girl was sent to the police clinic, it was discovered that she had long been disvirgined.

It was also gathered that the case was first reported to Trans-Ekulu police division who first investigated the matter before transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.

When the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebere Amaraizu was contacted, he confirmed the incident. He said that the suspect will be charged to court immediately investigations was concluded.
