A 31-year-old man, Julius Nwoka, who stole a cell phone worth N140,000 from one Sandra Mba, was on Thurdsay arraigned in a Badagry  Chief Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State.

The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a one count charge of stealing.

Prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem, told the court that Nwoka committed the offence on July 7 at Araromi bus stop, Badagry.

He said the accused stole the complainant’s cellphone (I phone 6), while she was about boarding a bus.

“The accused stole the cellphone from the complainant’s bag while she was about boarding a bus at the bus stop.

“He was caught by an onlooker who saw him while he was stealing the cellphone,” he said.

Ikem also told the court that the offence committed contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, Nigeria.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence and the Chief Magistrate, Mr Jimoh Adefioye, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.

The Chief Magistrate adjourned the case untill Aug. 24 for mention. (NAN)
