The Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanakpe Israel, a.k.a Akpodoro has congratulated the newly elected President General of the pan Urhobo social cultural organisation, the Urhobo Progressive Union, (UPU), Ese Gam Owe, and all members of the recently elected executives of the umbrella body. 

The congratulatory message was contained in a December 5 statement personally signed by the Mayor wherein he described the new executives as formidable team on whose shoulders lie the progress, growth and development of Urhobo nation and her people worldwide.

He described Owe as an impeccable character, honest with mental and psychological stability capable of steering the ship of Urhobo nation to safety saying with the newly elected managers of Urhobo national affairs, the nation is on the path of taking a leap into the future with so many promises of positive change and accelerated development.

He charged the exco to lead well having been entrusted with the destiny of Urhobo nation, adding: “to whom much is given, much is expected,” stating that they are expected to lead a peacefully United people of Urhoboland trudging them into progress as the body’s name implies.”

Other members of executives who were elected includes: 1st Deputy President General, Barr. Isaac Itebu;  2nd Deputy President General, Chief Abel Opuidi;

Emmanuel Omovie the National Legal Adviser; Andrew Ubido, as the National Assistant Legal Adviser and Chief Augustine Ogheneovo Atiti emerges as the National Auditor.
