It was fun and excitement on March 18 when the International Day of Happiness was commemorated at Silverbird Galleria, Lagos.
Though, March 20 is the official date for International Day of Happinness, Silverbird Film Distribution West Africa, in collaboration with Dominos Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery and Nickelodeon hosted children on Saturday, March 18, at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island. In attendance were Ufuoma McDermott, Emem Isong and a couple of other Nollywood artists.
Elwoma Luther-Abegunde, Marketing Executive, Silverbird Film Distribution West Africa, said: “We are here today to celebrate the International Day of Happiness and the Blue Carpet event of ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’ this is the third installment of the Smurfs franchise. Basically, it is an exclusive showing of the movie in West Africa before its official release, come April 7.
“It was set up for children from different backgrounds to come have a peek of what the movie is all about. Yearly, the United Nations (UN) partners with Sony to come up with a movie that they can use to promote the International Day of Happiness. Last year, it was Angry Birds and this year, it is Smurfs: The Lost Village.”
On Monday, March 20, the platform visited schools to give out educational materials and put smiles on the faces of the children and the likes of Afeez Oyetoro (Saka), Ufuoma McDermott, the Ben Bruce Foundation including UN representatives were on ground to mark the day with pupils.
