Lionel Messi admits he is hurting after his missed penalty cost Argentina a World Cup win, but is determined to move on as quickly as possible.

Messi saw his second half spot kick saved against Iceland by Hannes Halldorsson, as the minnows stunned the twice world champions by holding them to a 1-1 draw.

It capped off a bad game all round for Messi, who felt Argentina had deserved to win and that the penalty would have put them on the path to three points.

Speaking after the match, Messi said: ‘It would have changed the script. It was the advantage.
