Following a keenly contested election, the National Association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB) has elected the Managing Director of HASAL Microfinance Bank, Mr. Rogers Nwoke, as its President.

Nwoke beat two others to emerge as President of the association. The new NAMB President who spoke after the election, promised to bring together all the members and reposition the sector as an internationally respected industry by stimulating innovative and sustainable microfinance practice that guarantees financial inclusion and wealth creation for the economically active poor.

The association, which was established in 2009, is the umbrella body of 1001 licensed microfinance banks in the country.
