Dissatisfied by alleged neglect by the Lagos State Government in affecting lives of residents of Ogombo, in Etiosa Local Government Area, the community has cried out to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to come to their aids.

 

Traditional head of the community, Chief Abiodun Ogunbo, said it is quite unfortunate that his people  are not carried along by the state government on distribution of infrastructure and other  essential amenities, and appealed to Sanwo-Olu to provide Ogombo with the basic infrastructure like health center, modern market , library and other government’s projects to the neglected community, located in one of the major localties in the state.

 

He said provision of the basic infrastructure will not only develop the area, but would attract investments that could create job opportunities and boost the revenue drive of Lagos State.’Obviously, provision of the essential ammeties and facilities would give the people a sense of belonging, create more jobs for the people and increase the revenue base of the government.’

 

Ogumbo who spoke during his two years coronation anivessary in Lagos, was optimistic that if Sanwo-Olu  could be  considerate and  magnanimous enough to extend his developmental strides to Ogombo, the town would develop faster and become a better place to be.

He stressed the need for creation of employment for youths in the community, pointing out that his last two years on the throne, had been challenging to leaders of Ogombo, stakeholders and residents  in the fight to reduce crime, lawlessness, disunity, dissatisfaction and rancour in the community, due tomorrow non engagement of young people into meaningful employment.

 

Having also called on Lagos State government to hasten works on the on-going construction of Ogombo -Dangotedo road.

The traditional ruler commended member  representing Eti -Osa constituency 2 , in the State House of Assembly, Hon Noheen Adams , for his good represention. “We are proud of his leadership prowess . I also commend the people of Ogombo for standing by me always. Their roles in the administration of the community can’t be quantified.”

 

According to him, part of the activities marking the event was the unvailing the status of the founder of the great community named Abiodun Ogudu Oke Oshadi , a powerful hunter and Ifa priest . “I am happy to be sustaining the legacy of the founder, by restoring peace on the historical town.”

 

He advised sons and daughters of Ogombo to join hands with him for the development of their ancenstral town.
