The story that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) may be fielding Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu as replacement for embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki drew a lot of comments on The Sun Facebook page HYPERLINK “http://www.facebook.com/TheSunNigeria” www.facebook.com/TheSunNigeria.

Babatunde Akinjide
The deputy president should be wary of the trap set for him by contesting for Senate president position. What befell Saraki will be nothing compared to his.
Garba Abdullahi Muhammed
@aliyu usman kaoje: it’s not all Igbo who are Biafrans, just the way it’s not all Maiduguri indigenes that are members of Boko Haram. What we want in this country is who can lead us well. American is bigger than Nigeria 20 times, but everybody is enjoying. What then is the problem with a little country like Nigeria with all the resources?
Ugwuja Anthony
Party affiliation aside, he is the best thing to ever happen to this country if he emerges. He’s a man with wisdom, wealth of experience and fearless.
Olakunle Joseph
I will prefer an Igbo APC senator, not Ekweremadu because of his party, PDP.
Garba Abdullahi Muhammed
It’s a wise idea. What we really needs is somebody who can deliver irrespective of tribe background or religion; if you like, be a native doctor. What we need is success.
Jerry Osahon Olarenwaju
Is it PDP’s decision? The reason Bola Tinubu and Muhammadu Buhari want to take out Saraki so bad is because they want the Senate to be under their palms and they want to control it like a blind dog. They will be dreaming to believe that if Saraki leaves, Ekweremadu would be the head of that institution.
GreatJustice Ify Obaji
By constitution, is the deputy not meant to take over if the speaker is impeached or …..?
Ajibola Ololade
I totally support APC decision to concede the Senate presidency to PDP if the need arises than retain Saraki. APC had learnt a great lesson from the downfall of PDP. You can manage people because you want to remain in power, allow those who are not loyal to leave and you will be able to plan with your loyalist. Saraki is never a loyal APC member and it is time he is allowed to go back to where he belongs. Nigerians will always decide who they want as president through the ballot.
Yakubu Abubakar
Senator Ekweremadu cannot be the senate president.
Nnamdi Baba
Nnamdi Baba, if I were Ike Ekweremadu I’ll learn from Saraki’s ordeal because the amendment of the Senate rules hanging on his neck will surface. So let him pipe low.
Controversial Praise
I pity the deputy Senate President if he tries to replace Saraki. You see how they’re treating Saraki?
Abubakar As-siddiq Muhammad
“Bring your friends close, and your enemies closer.” – Robert Green.
Mohammed Solari
Mohammed Ali Ndume, majority leader of the Senate, will replace Saraki if he leaves the Senate president’s position
Zubair Salihu
PDP is gradually coming alive
Augustine Christopher
Good, Igbo for Senate president? Hurray!
Obireri T Uyota
He is the best among PDP and APC senators.
Odetayo Ishola Shefiu
Ekweremadu, your case is still pending.
Garba Abdullahi Muhammed
If he can take us to the promise land, fine and good; let’s move on.
Divine Ngadi
I think it’s the best thing to do.
Alasiri Babatunde
For where? That is bad market.
Ibrahim Hussaini Beli
Please wake up from your dream. Never will Ekweremadu become Senate president under APC government. Think twice; stop deceiving yourself.
