The Eze Ndigbo Ghana and the Assistant Publicity Secretary Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has congratulated the new Amazulu of Zulu Kingdom in South Africa, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini.

King Misuzulu, who has promised to unite his nation and protect tradition, was officially recognised as the AmaZulu King by the South African government on Saturday in the first Zulu coronation since 1971.

The official recognition by President Cyril Ramaphosa puts an end to lengthy legal wrangling that mired his succession to the throne — a battle that has played out in public and the courts.

According to Reuters, his certificate of recognition was officially handed over on Saturday 29 at the coastal town of Durban, where tens of thousands of people, mostly Zulus dressed in their traditional attires and carrying shields and clubs, gathered to recognise Misuzulu as the rightful heir to the late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.

In a statement issued from the revered Obi igbo Obieziokwu palace in Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr Ihenetu paid glowing tributes to the new Zulu king whom he described as symbol of African resistance to colonialism and imperialism.
While wishing the new king well, HRM Eze Dr Ihenetu urges him to continue to uphold the excellent virtues of his forefathers which endeared him to the entire continent.
