Now, in commemoration of its anniversary, MTV Base will take over the March edition of Mainland Block Party taking place on Sunday March 3, 2019. Fourteen years of promoting and elevating good music is no easy feat, so a celebration of this magnitude is definitely in order for the brand.

Speaking on the anniversary, Country Manager, Bada Akintunde-Johnson, says: “Fourteen years in this industry is no easy feat and we are grateful for all the support that we have received from our viewers over the years. We look forward to more years of showcasing Africa to the world. If there is one thing we have learnt as a brand, after working with millennials for almost two decades, we have come to see that there is power in collaboration and we’ve discovered that the truism ‘stronger together’ still rings true.

“This is why we’ve decided that collaborating with an existing event that is as successful and popular as Mainland Block Party would be an ideal decision. We are working around the clock to make this party a truly special one and we cannot wait for everyone to come and experience MTV Base like never before.”
