Nigeria’s rich variety of fresh natural ingredients and food odyssey shone brightly recently as a new multi-dimensional eatery and banquet venue was unveiled in the heart of Ikeja Business District, Lagos.
Tank & Tummy, a 3-storey restaurant complex located at 22, Oba Akran Road, Ikeja, is a glorious hospitality investment and culinary expression by entrepreneur, gourmet and food expert, Ms Aramide Bello.
Armed with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics, earned from University of Lagos, Bello departed for the United States in the early ‘90s where her profound interest and world class dining experience was fuelled by yummy treats and scrumptious continental cuisines and beverages.
According to the Lagos-born executive chef, who is licensed by the American board of food professionals, CCFPA, food isn’t just fuel for the tummy (body), delicious food can also spark luxurious dining pleasures in a tastefully furnished environment while sharing brighter moments at the table with family, friends and associates.
Her remarkable experience as restaurant manager with international brands like Red Lobsters and Papacito’s in Texas, United States, had honed her culinary skills, restaurant operations management and innovative recipe development, which underscored the bright prospects of Tank & Tummy. However, the certified catering professional explained that she had taken interest in food service and hospitality management and developed love for savory and spicy dishes while she was a kid learning the rudiments from her workaholic and dedicated mother, who is the founder of Tank & Tummy.
“A thriving eatery set up by my mum gave me the opportunity to be acquainted with practical skills and educate myself about the art of culinary and catering services. I have always been involved while my mum created Tank & Tummy, and tickled taste buds with a world of cuisines from her filling station outlet situated along Apapa-Mile 2 Expressway, Lagos.
