The legal team of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Sagbama Branch, has declared that it would ensure justice for the family of Tariela Nikade who was reportedly killed by a Police officer attached to Akenfa Police Division, at the weekend.

Nikade, who had gone to watch a football match, was gunned down by Sergeant Timadi Emmanuel along Tinacious Road, Edepie, Yenagoa under controversial circumstance.

Bayelsa State Police Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Mukan, had immediately ordered the arrest of Emmanuel and directed that an orderly room trial be conducted in preparatory for his formal arraignment in court.

The Sagbama branch of the NBA led by Sheila Ogbise- Erhisere has disclosed that the family has been in touch with the NBA to get justice for it.

Barr Dise Ogbise- – Erhisere who was in company of the branch Provost Wisdom Adike while answering questions from newsmen on the case categorically stated that the matter would be pursued to a logical conclusion.

She condemned the incident describing it unfortunate and painful,  stating that NBA Sagbama Branch frowns at such extra Judicial killings and that all available legal support would be given to the deceased family.

“We have already been approached by the deceased family and our human rights committee would be meeting with the family tomorrow,” she said.
