Daniel Adedeji Olaniyi a.k.a Lordmansamusa is a businessman and showbiz enthusiast.

For the Tankful Records boss who loves Afrobeats his love for music made him start a record label.
In this interview with The Sun, the serial entrepreneur, happily married to Brandi Olaniyi and blessed with two kids shares his passion for growth, challenges of running a successful business in the abroad, his record label and lots more.

You have series of business you own, how do cope managing them all?

Through vision for success and help of everybody involved with the companies

 

 

You also run an Agricultural business in Ibadan, but based in the USA, what are the major challenges you encounter due of distance?

Well, nothing really because the world is really a small space these days! Thanks to technology.

 

How has it been running such a business in regards to the economic situation of the country?

It has been hard especially for young  entrepreneurs like myself, we hardly having government backing in anything.

 

Your record label, what inspired you to go into music business? 

I’ve always been around music, I use to be a drummer boy when I was younger. I go from churches to churches every Sunday to drum for churches and get paid for it, and of course lead band boy in school.

 

 

How many artistes are signed to your record label? 

We currently have 2 artistes on our label, Mellon and Sololucci. And they are doing great.

 

What’s your favorite genre of music and why?

Afrobeat of course!

 

Who are your favorite Nigerian musicians and why?

Burna boy and Simi because their sound and melody is just like no other. It is different.

 

 

As a black man how do you deal with racism and discrimination over there in the US?

Whew! How do you deal with racism than show the other side something different?

 

Any recent embarrassing encounter?

Hmmm. Non that I can think of right now.

 

 

You are also into media, what is the inspiration behind running a media platform? 

I’ve always loved the idea of me been able to report and deliver information about what’s going in the society to people that don’t have access to certain places.

How do you manage the business from the USA? 

I go back and forth a lot and I stay closely in touch with the top executives on ground there in Nigeria.

 

How do you source for your contents? 

Content sourcing is not as hard as people thing. Every time new things happen in the world. It is always something to talk about, just look in the right place and the information is there.

 

 

 

What has fatherhood changed about you?

A lot. It has brought a side of me I didn’t know even existed and most importantly I finally understand the meaning of true Love.

 

 

 

What keeps your family and relationship going?

Respect and honesty.

 

 

As a father figure, what legacy would you like to leave for your kids? 

I mean everything I’ve worked for is all for them.

 

 

What’s your advice to young entrepreneurs still trying to find their feet?  

Not to give up; wake up everyday to look for information that will help you make sound decisions about your business.

 

What is the best business advice you have received?

Don’t spend what you don’t have.

 

What is your business philosophy?   

 

Don’t make excuses, make improvements

 

What is your position on the government’s plan to clam down on social media platforms?

I think Nigeria government needs to get out of their bubble and look at the world and understand that the ret of the world are leaving us behind.
