No fewer than 44 senatorial candidates of different political parties are jostling for three senatorial seats in Bauchi State in the National Assembly elections scheduled for tomorrow.

This was disclosed by the Head, Voter Education and Public Enlightenment of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Bauchi State, Ahmed Waziri, in an interview with journalists in his office on Friday.

Giving the breakdown, Waziri stated that 18 candidates are from Bauchi South, 15 from Bauchi Central while 11 from are Bauchi North.

The information obtained from the INEC Voter Education Officer for the state revealed that 140 candidates are jostling for the 12 seats in the House of Representatives.

The federal constituencies are Alkaleri/Kirfi, Bauchi, Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro, Darazo/Ganjuwa, Gamawa, Jama’are/Itas Gadau, Katagum, Misau/Dambam, Shira/Giade, Ningi/Warji, Toro and Zaki.

He said the state also has one presidential candidate, Moses Shipi from Bogoro Local Government Area running on the platform of All Blending Party (ABP).

Meanwhile, all sensitive materials have been distributed to all the INEC offices in the 20 local government areas of the state for onward distribution to the 212 electoral wards in the state

He said the sensitive materials would further be distributed by electoral officers in the 212 registration areas in the state made up of 4,074 polling units.
