Students of Abia State orIgin , under the aegis of National Association of Abia State students (NAASS), said that they have joined Governor Victor Okezie Ikpeazu in his campaign to promote made in Aba goods.

They stated that they would start this campaign through designing the costumes they will use for the upcoming Miss Abia state students MABSS 2017 Beauty pageant.

They explained that their move was a way of supporting the efforts of the Governor  to redefine the economy of the state through encouraging production of goods and services in Aba and Abia state.

They made this disclosure in Umuahia yesterday during in a press conference .

The National President of NAASS, Comrade Okecukwu Wilson Kalu, explained that Aba has one of the largest concentration of Micro, small and Medium Enterprises(MSMES) in Nigeria.

Kalu said that a bulk of this number are engaged in leather works, steel fabrication and garment making which has made the city popular.

“Soon , Aba city will be the largest city in the world that will produce costumes for beauty pageantry”.

He urged Abia state students all over the world to spread the good vision of the governor for the interest of all.

He said that Abia students  sees the Governor as a leader who has the passion to see Abia and indeed Abia take their pride of places by being major contributors to the economy.

He described Miss Abia state students pageants as a programme that is targeted towards raising  young girls who are self confident , bold, courageous to stand as role models for the students on moral upbringing.
