Nigerian Army Officers Wife Association (NAOWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promote good and quality education especially at the basic level, which it noted is the foundation of a successful academic life.
National President of NAOWA, Ummi Buratai, who gave the assurance at the first graduation and prizing giving day of NAOWA College, Abuja, identified quality education as key to successful life.
Represented by Mrs. Pat Akem, the NAOWA President urged the outgoing students to be great ambassadors of the school, even as she encouraged those who secured admission into foreign universities to study hard in order to graduate with good results.
The Chairman, ThisDay Editorial Board, Mr. Segun Adeniyi in his keynote address commended NAOWA for their desire to change the face of education in Nigeria by setting up such great institution that has been transforming lives of students.
The former Senior Special Assistant (Media) to late President Umar Musa Yar’adua warned the graduating students against any act that would bring shame and reproach to them and the college, but rather aim for excellence.
The school Principal, Major Michael Leo Williams, attributed the success to the dedication and commitment of the teachers as well as the support of NAOWA leadership. He promised to work hard to ensure that the school becomes one of the best schools in Abuja.
