Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti believes the Serie A leader has proven those who believe it cannot compete without injured striker, Victor Osmhen, wrong.
Baring his mind during an interview with the Gazzetta delo Sport, the gaffer underscored how well his attack has fared, especially in goal scoring in their last four matches without the Nigeria international, a statement that gave peace of mind to the club’s medical staff and also to Osimhen for a stress-free and risk-free recovery.
“You thought we were Osimhen-addicts and instead we are not,” said Spalletti, whose team has won the last four matches, putting them at the top of the standings in terms of points and goals scored.
What this means is that the technical and medical staff can work with greater serenity and without haste on the recovery of Osimhen, whom the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has valued at over €100 million. A couple of days ago, Professor Raffaele Canonico, head of the medical staff at Napoli, said Victor Osimhen suffered a classic sprinter injury, adding that the Nigeria striker has acceleration and extension from 30 to 40.
