Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state would on Wednesday commence a massive distribution of relief materials to communities recently affected by communal clashes across the state.

In a statement signed by the special assistant to the governor on media and publicity, Ahmed Tukur, he said the distribution which will be flagged up by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura at the state government house, Lafia, and is aimed at supporting victims to gradually settle back into their homes.

Tukur said the relief distribution would be continuous in all communities affected by the crisis as part of efforts by government to restore order, rehabilitate the affected persons and reconstruct damaged infrastructure in said communities.

The SSA called on all traditional rulers, community leaders, and political representatives of the affected communities to come to the government house by 10am to witness the first phase of the distribution.

Some of the affected communities are Udeni Magaji and Environs, Ume/ Atabula Arikya, Agbulagu, Fadama Bauna, Uggah and Tudun Adabu.

Others are Tungan Daudu Akura, Gidan Mai akuya, Assakio, Gidan Buba, Bakin Kogi, Daddare, Angwan Mamman/Angwan Hamidu, Kwandere/Awuma, Mankwar, Iggah, Shimar, Alakyo, Jibel, Burumburum Alago and Gallo.

The relief support consist of food and non-food items and several other household items.
