Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, was today decked in Tiv traditional attire for the confirmation of his new Tiv traditional title, ‘Asor-Tar- U-Tiv’, as a ‘Peace Broker’.

The Speaker was flanked by his colleagues when he was colourfully dressed and decorated with the new Tiv traditional title attire.

Chairman, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu (APC – Keana), and Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali, both decorated the Speaker with the Tiv attires in his office in Lafia today.

The Speaker, who was overwhelmed with the title, appreciated the Tiv community for the honour and re-affirmed his commitment to continue to champion the course of peace, unity and development in the society.

He called on the Tiv community to remain committed to constituted authorities and support the Abdullahi Sule administration to champion the course of peace, unity and progress among their people and their communities.

On Saturday, April 9, the Tiv Community in Nasarawa State conferred the traditional title of peace broker in Nasarawa State to the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.
