Twenty-two men accreditation team from the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) visited the Nwafor-Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State recently on five-day quality assurance, assessment of facilities, academic programmes and teaching staff in the College to ensure quality delivering of service.

The team leader, Vitalis Uji, led other resource persons made up of experts from various professions and drawn from all the geo-political zones of the country to assess the standard of each academic department in the college.

Uji who spoke on behalf of others, shortly before they moved to various departments, stated that they would ensure quality accreditation, even as he described their visit as a normal exercise being carried out periodically in all Colleges of Education across the country. He explained that their terms of reference were usually to assess the quality of students on campus and their lecturers, adding that they would also interact and assess academic staff, their ranking, rating and qualifications.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Provost, Dr Cordelia Ego Uzoezie, assured the team that the management would provide necessary logistics for them to move round the campus. She expressed optimism that the accreditation would be successful at the end.

The team praised the Provost and her management team for the developmental efforts and urged them not to relent in their efforts to take the College to greater heights.
