Amidst cheers and jubilation, a foundation, Helmet of Salvation Ministry International (HOSMI), has donated food items to the aged and widows across selected communities.

Beneficiaries drawn from different religious backgrounds came out en masse to share in the magnanimity of the foundation, held recently.

Our correspondent gathered that the founder, Pastor Victor and Pastor Mrs Omobola Adewale Johnson, reportedly “heard from God” to take care of the aged and widows through an outreach every November.

 Some of the platforms that partnered with the foundation include Touch of Love and Lifting Hands Foundation in Iju Ishaga area of Lagos State; Christ Baptist Church, Ede, Osun State; Late Pa. Samuel Olapade Oyewole Foundation, Oke Oniti Osogbo, Osun State; Atunbi Baptist Church Sawmill, Ilorin, Kwara State; Ori Oke Arogungbogunmi, Idi Ose, Ibadan, Oyo State and Holy Ghost International Church, Oke Ira, Ogba, Lagos State. Beneficiaries acknowledged that giving is a show of love and a godly act.

President of the foundation, Pastor Mrs Omobola Adewale Johnson, in her introductory speech, explained the vision of sharing gifts to the aged and widows as God given mandateShe further explain that “the foundation is a ministry with mandate from God to empower  humanity with the word of God, by sharing the Bible to everyone, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and reconciling men back to God; also supporting full time pastors financially, helping to build the end time men for Christ by the wordand doing many more, both spiritually and physically.”

Recall that in the last five years, every November, the foundation has given has given support to the aged and the widows by giving them raw food staff, cloths, shoes, just to put smiles on their faces, while also sharing the gospel message with them.

Engineer Wuraola Owolabi who is the president of Touch of Love and Lifting Hands Foundation could not hide her joy. She thanked the president of HOSMI for her great sacrifice of love and prayed that God will continue to bless and prosper the part of HOSMI and the entire team.

Some of  the beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude. One Mrs Owolabagbin was full of songs of praise to God, saying “it can only be God”. She explained that times are hard but the outreach has provided a relief for her. She prayed for the ministry.

For another beneficiary, Mrs Ayinde Adepeju, said “there can never be a better time to remind ourselves of the need to prepare for heaven by sharing with people in need because when we get to heaven, God will look at our record of good deeds to our fellow humans”. 

According to Chioma Nabuchi, outreaches like this are most times the only way of putting smiles on the faces of people like her. She prayed God to bless and continually empower the foundation to do more.

God’s Time Dance Drama group put up a show, driving home the message that, with Christ, humans can succeed in the raging battles of life.

A clergyman, Rev D. O. Olawale of Christ Baptist Church, Ede, who was also in attendance, was quick to note that the people appreciated the atmosphere, while Rev. Dr. Hammed of Holy Ghost International Church had to call out the president of HOSMI and her team for special prayers.

The secretary of HOSMI, Taiwo Alabi, in a vote of thanks, was grateful to God for the “wide acceptance” and for safety, admitting that God has been most faithful to the president and her husband in the planning and implementation of the yearly outreach.
