Moved by the persistent herdsmen and farmers clashes across the country, the Eze Ndigbo Mekong, Asia, HRH Eze (Amb) Jerome Uzochukwu Ezeneche has called on President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government to nip the crisis in the bud before it consumes Nigeria.

In a statement made available to Daily Sun, Ezeneche who recently won Anambra Diaspora Personality of the year 2020 join eminent personalities like Prof. Wole Soyinka to call on the Federal Government to act fast by addressing the nation and setting up a peace conference to end the skirmishes between herdsmen and farmers in the country.

On the effect of the negative reports on Nigerians in the Diaspora, Ezeneche said the ugly trend is already chasing investors away from the country. “Already people out there are beginning to see Nigeria as a failed state. Under such situations, our partners will find it difficult to invest in our economy,” he said.

While lamenting that bad politics is almost ruining the country, the royal father said Nigeria with all the cattle noise is not among the first 20 cattle producing countries in the world and as such, he called on the Federal government to set up modern cattle ranch across the Northern belt as it is obtainable in developed countries. “Such measure will not only end the herders/farmers clashes but also enable Dairy industries to grow in such ranches thereby solving problems of unemployment in the region.

While reminding the Federal government that no country fights civil war twice and survives, Ezeneche said outbreak of civil disorder as exemplifies by the EndSars protest would ruin Nigeria and leads to loss of life and property. He called on President Buhari to act now before it is too late.
