Amidst various challenges members of the Organised Private Sector (OPS) are currently battling with, the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) recently celebrated businesses in Nigeria for their resilience despite numerous odds.

In the event which held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, TGI emerged as the employer of the year. 

Speaking at the award ceremony, which was the second in its series, tagged “Going beyond limits”, the President, NECA, Mr Taiwo Adeniyi, said it was an evening of relaxation and celebration of the achievements of organised businesses notwithstanding what they battled.

Adeniyi noted that the major objective of the event is to reward and celebrate the doggedness and resilience of organised businesses in Nigeria. He stated that since the association is the voice of businesses and the most representative Business Membership Organisation in Nigeria, “there is no other better organisation eminently suited to organize an Employers Excellence Award Ceremony than NECA and while they  acknowledge the proliferation of award, they  are bold to say this is arguably the most credible.”

According to him, the Nigerian enterprises remain one of the most tenacious in the world, and despite the myriads of challenges faced locally and globally, they continue to demonstrate commitment to shareholders and employees, while also contributing to national development. He applauded the staying power of Small and Medium Scale Industries and the determination of large and multinational organizations. 

Adeniyi maintained that the event was for the  celebration of best practices and commitment to continuous improvement of businesses in Nigeria. He appreciated the sponsors of the  event and other organisations that supported in one way or the other to make the night a laudable one. 

In his remarks, the Director General, of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr Segun Kadiri praised NECA for the leadership role provided for the Organised Private Sector in Nigeria and also for ensuring a conducive atmosphere is provided for the Nigeria workers.  He said, “To excel and surmount is an indication of perseverance and doggedness in the face of the harsh economy.”
