AS the impasse over Nigerian football drags, the Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of its President, Amaju Pinnick has called an extra-ordinary congress of the body to deliberate on the latest development regarding the judgment of a Federal High Court in Jos.

The Congress which comprises of all the 36 State FA chairmen and Secretaries including the Federal Capital Territory is expected to take place on Wednesday in Abuja where Chris Giwa and his group are most likely to be suspended and asked to face the Ethics Committee.

Should Giwa and his cohorts fail to appear before the Committee headed by Amanze Ucheagbulam, a lengthy ban may be imposed on them Daily Sun Sports reliably learnt.

It was further gathered that a good number of FA chairmen and secretaries have already arrived in Abuja in time for the congress.

Interestingly, Amb. Chris Giwa sensing his impending ban called a media press briefing dissolving the state FAs. He said any such assembly will be viewed by the court as contempt as the Federal High Court has equally disbanded the congress.

Last week, the Giwa group got the court to re-list their case against the NFF leadership, which they had suspended two years ago.

Aside from the risk of being banned, Giwa’s club may also be thrown out of the Nigeria Premier League.
