EMBATTLED former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh on Tuesday maintained that his erstwhile employers the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF) is yet to pay him his outstanding salaries.
Oliseh made the statement while revealing that he had asked his lawyers to withdraw a lawsuit against the NFF after speaking with well meaning Nigerians.
“I have instructed my lawyers to withdraw the lawsuit against the NFF,” Oliseh said via his official Youtube account, the same medium through which he announced his resignation as coach of the national team two weeks ago.
Oliseh cited breach of contract including non-payment of salaries by his employers before his resignation.
He had threatened to sue the NFF early this month, after the local football governing body made claims that the backlog of salaries owed him were cleared shortly before his resignation as coach.
Daily SunSport, however, can authoritatively reveal that the Belgium based tactician was indeed paid based on a document we obtained from the NFF. A source told us that Oliseh was economical with the truth. “Oliseh was paid even before he quit the Eagles job, which I can confirm to you.”
Oliseh, in the same statement had also accused the technical committee of only being interested in the imposition of players on him when they are not coaches.
But in a swift reaction, the Nigeria Football Federation dismissed the allegation.
Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Chris Green, wondered when his Committee made moves to impose players on the former trainer.
“I can vouch for Felix Anyansi- Agwu, who was chairman of the committee before me, that he is not that type of person. I was made chairman on January 16 and traveled to Rwanda on January 17, when the team for the CHAN had been composed. The Super Eagles have not played any match since CHAN. So, when did we have time to try and impose players on him?
“We are not in anyway moved by his vituperations. He claims we did not provide him information with regards to Egypt, but how come we have been able to provide Siasia with the same? He should respect himself and move on.”
