Over 30 institutions are expected to feature in the 16th edition of the Nigeria College of Agriculture and Related Discipline Games (NICARDGA) where three schools co-hosted.

The schools are the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan and Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Ibadan respectively.

Speaking at the press briefing on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Chidi Okpeze said all logistics for  NICARDGA are in place to make the programme a memorable one.

He disclosed some of the games to be featured include football, chess, tennis, table tennis, draft, athletes, scrabble and badminton.

According to him, the opening ceremony is scheduled for November 16, 2022 at the Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele, Ibadan where Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Mohammed Mahmood will be hosting the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Minister for Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, Olubadan of Ibadan, HRM Oba Lekan Balogun, Bishops, Imam, among others.

He said the venue for the competition will be Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, Bora Field at Apata, and the fields of the hosting schools.

Okpeze said the fiesta was organised to discover talents for the country which they’ve been able to achieve in recent years.

He empathised that security personnel would be on ground as they have engaged the services of Nigerian Police, NSCDC, Man O War and Road Safety saying Oyo State has been a peaceful and friendly state as they are going to witness hitch free competition.
