Commissioner of Police, Niger State, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, has said that the command arrested 50 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers and recovered some sophisticated weapons in various hideouts: “The command has done excellently in dealing with hoodlums.

“Crime has reduced drastically with the assistance of all security agencies. Vigilance groups and local hunters also worked tirelessly to checkmate the hoodlums.

“We have neutralised the hoodlums from various hideouts with the assistance of members of entire public. They gave us vital information that enabled us to fight the hoodlums. Today, Niger State is calm and safe to do business.

“I will be 60 years on October 14, 2022 and I will bow out from this job. I thank my officers, rank and files and friends who worked to ensure we were able to catch the hoodlums.

“I want to thank the state government for its support for the command with operational vehicles and logistics. We appreciate all tactical teams and the support of the IGP Usman Bala Alkali, who assisted us with his tactical team from Abuja.
