Another ritualist found with human skull

As armed bandits continued their onslaught across the communities in Niger State, the Nigerian Police Niger State command says it has arrested a 25 years old Ibrahim Ali, aka Bajala suspected to be an informant and a major supplier of food Items to bandits in the state.

The suspect was arrested at Gwalo village, Kwakuti District of Paikoro Local Government area of the state.

The state police command in a statement in Minna, on Saturday evening by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the arrest of the suspect follows an earlier arrest of two suspected kidnappers with the sum of N2.1million cash, suspected to be proceeding from ransom at Lambata town in Gurara Local Government Area of the state.

According to the police image maker, a thorough investigation into the arrest of the Kidnappers, and through the confessional statement of the suspected kidnappers and technical intelligence received led to the arrest of the Informant/food supplier.

The statement further revealed that the suspect was arrested in his hideout at Gwalo village for “being a suspected informant and food supplier to the arrested suspected kidnappers.

“During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and said that he usually monitors targets for kidnappers. He confessed further that he also assist the hoodlums to purchase foodstuffs such as rice, beans, millet and even alcohol of any kind, with cigarettes.”

The statement pointed further that the suspect was arrested with some quantity of raw rice and beans, which he said he wanted to take to the kidnapper’s hideout in Gwalo forest before his arrest.

Meanwhile, in another development, the police said it has apprehended 38-year-old Abdulrahaman Woru of Gbesewona village in Benin Republic, who resides in the Babana area of Borgu Local Government area of the state with a human skull.

The suspected ritualist was arrested by Police operatives attached to New-Bussa Division arrested following a tip-off based on a tip-off.

The police also in a statement disclosed that the suspect was arrested at Babana town for being in possession of a human skull, and when a search was conducted in his house; other items including three pieces of suspected human ribs, two idols and a cash sum of 5000 CFA of Benin Republic currency were recovered.

“During interrogation, he confessed that the human skull recovered belonged to him. He claimed that he migrated from Benin Republic to Nigeria about four years ago for his ritual business, without any immigration document, adding that he is a traditional medicine practitioner from Benin Republic

He claimed that he found the human skull in a bag he picked from the roadside while returning from the Benin Republic to Nigeria a few weeks ago, adding that, he tied the skull on his motorcycle and took it home, because he believed it will be useful for his work, but he did not report to the police.
