The Secretary of Arewa Community in Lagos, Kudu Abubakar, has called for the intervention of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in resolving a leadership crisis rocking the group.

Abubakar made the plea, in an  interview while speaking on recent calls by some members of the Arewa community for the sacking of the state Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Kabiru Abdullahi.

The commissioner, Abdullahi, is the only man of the Northern extraction in the State Executive Council but is being accused by his kinsmen of highhandedness, intolerance, selfishness, arrogance and failure to promote and protect the interest of the group in government and APC, among others.

The commissioner is currently having a running battle with the State House of Assembly over his refusal to honour an invitation extended to him, on the probe of his ministry’s activities.

Speaking on why some members opted to move against their kinsman in government, Abubakar alleged that the attitude of the commissioner towards members of the community, was what led to the agitation for his sack.

He accused some APC leaders in the state of  aiding  the commissioner for wrongdoing among his kinsmen.

Abubakar said none of the people calling for the commissioner’s sack is a member of the PDP, observing that they are all loyal members of the APC.

According to Abubakar, “We have petitioned the House of assembly over this leadership crisis. But we believe that the state party chairman knows about it and shielding the commissioner. “
