From Oluseye Ojo, Ibadan

Eminent Nigerians across all walks of life, under the auspices of friends and associates of Dr Yemi Farounbi, former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines, will meet in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital today (Tuesday) to share their views on the economic situation of Nigeria and the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

They will x-ray and proffer solutions to the two topical issues at the maiden public lecture, entitled: ‘Economy and 2023 Elections’, scheduled to hold at the Press Centre, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Iyaganku, Ibadan, organised by ‘Friends of Yemi Farounbi Platform.’

According to an invite sent out by the platform administrator, Mr Clement Ige, the lecture would hold under the chairmanship of Chief Adebisi Adesola, a former General Manager of the Broadcasting Service of Oyo State (BCOS), with Mr Yomi Davies as the officiating officer.

Discussants at the lecture include a pro-democracy and rights activist, Mashood Erubami, as well as seasoned journalists, Dr. Festus Adedayo, Mrs Kemi Ajayi and Dr Femi Adefila.

Ige stated further: “This is our own little way to contribute to sustainable economic growth and the advancement of democracy. Let us add our credible voice to the 2023 elections through our maiden public lecture.”
