Come March 20 to 23, all roads will lead to Ibis Royal Hotel, Airport Road, Ikeja, Lagos, venue of International Olympic Committee Solidarity and Common Wealth Games Federation Zeus Training workshop.
Over 13 English Speaking African Countries are expected to participate in the workshop.
The countries include Botswana, Ghana, Lesoto, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda and Seychelles.
Others are Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and host Nigeria.
According to the Project Manager, Nigeria Olympic Committee, (NOC), Augustine Odigie, participants are expected to arrive Nigeria March20, 2017, ahead of start of the workshop, which has Ellen Barwise of the Commonwealth Games Federation as the expatriate instructor.
The Secretary General of NOC, Hon.Tunde Popoola while throwing more light on the Zeus Training workshop, said the programme which is the first of its kind to be held on any African soil would go along way in empowering stakeholders in charting a new course for their countries’ sports.
Popoola explained further that Nigeria was chosen as host based on her important position in both Africa and global sports.
