The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has set lofty goals by preparing the nation to bid to host the U20 Female’s Africa Championship in 2019.

The President of NVBF, Engineer Musa Nimrod stated this during the closing ceremony of the U21 men’s Africa Volleyball Championship in Abuja.

He said that Nigeria is targeting the age grade championship as part of strategy to develop and grow Nigeria volleyball.

Nimrod added that his country has the financial and tangible means to host volleyball tournament.

He stated that “Nigerian youth are the focal point for the country’s development and economic security,” adding that the Ministry of Youth and sports will play a key role in economic development.

“An African female underage championships have never been held in Nigeria, but the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) is preparing to bid for the U20 female Africa Nation’s Cup”, Nimrod said.
