Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi, Umar Ganduje, has called on supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC0, to be calm while the collation of results of the governorship and state Assembly elections were still ongoing.

Ganduje assured that there was no cause for alarm as reports were very positive and encouraging, adding that his party would ultimately emerge the winner of the voting exercise held on Saturday in the state.

A statement signed by Kano State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, reminded supporters of all political parties and the entire people of the state that it was only the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or its representatives that has the mandate to announce results and declare winners of the elections.

He urged people to be law abiding and desist from taking laws into their hands or engaging in any act capable of breaching the peace in the state even as he advised them to wait for the announcement of the final official results from the INEC, before embarking on celebrations based on wrong assumptions and falsehood.
