PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that under his watch, no section of the country would be discriminated against or marginalised.
Buhari said issues and situations would be considered objectively and no action would be taken for or against any section of the country on the basis of prejudice.
He also vowed to do whatever it takes to remain honest, fair and just while steering the ship of the country towards salvation and prosperity.
The president spoke at the palace of the Emir of Daura, Dr. Farouk Umar Farouk where he was hosted to the breaking of the Ramadan fast.
Buhari visited his home town for the first time since his return from medical vacation in the United Kingdom last month. He was received by a mammoth crowd.
Accompanied by Governors of Katsina, Aminu Bello Masari and Zamfara State, AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar respectively, Buhari was ushered into the chamber of the palace for the breaking of the Ramadan fast.
In his remarks, the president, who expressed his gratitude to the emir for the honour done him, spoke extensively on leadership and trust and reiterated that under his watch, no section of the country would either be discriminated or marginalised.
Buhari called for support and understanding of Nigerians as he strives to rebuild the country fairly, honestly and responsibly.
Both Masari and the emir assured Nigerians that with President Buhari’s honesty and enormous integrity, the country was not only in safe hands but destined for prosperity.
They described the fight against corruption and the renewed focus on agriculture and solid minerals development as critical to the survival and development of the country and pledged the support of the people and government of Katsina State.
Also at the event were Katsina deputy governor, Secretary to the State Government and Speaker of the state Assembly and many traditional title holders.
Special prayers were offered for peace, unity, stability and sustainable development of the country.
