For actress and filmmaker, Imade Osawaru, who celebrated her birthday with pomp a few days ago, not all Edo women are prostitutes.

According to the screen diva, the insinuation that a larger percentage of Edo women are into prostitution is farther from the truth. “As far as I know, and from the time I spent abroad, I can categorically say that Edo women living abroad are gainfully employed. Edo women are hard working and they are goal getters; so every narrative or insinuation that people have about us are their opinions. Everyone has the right to his or her own opinion,” she told Saturday Sun.

However, while recalling an encounter with a fan in Benin City recently, Osawaru said she sees nothing wrong in marrying one of her fans, as long as he meets her criteria.

In her words: “The guy came for my aunt’s burial in Benin. He came with the vendors as one of their waiters, and it was surprising when my friend said ‘Imade, someone wants to talk to you’. I said ‘okay’ and the next thing I saw was one of the waiters saying he’s shy because he was wearing a uniform, and that as one of my biggest fans, he couldn’t believe he’s seeing me face to face. That day, the guy made sure my table didn’t lack anything. He begged me to snap pictures with me. He even waited on me till I was ready to leave the party, even after his boss had left. Funny enough, I can marry someone like him, if only he can meet my criteria of being respectful, loving, caring and rich with plenty of money.”
