Investment banker and former Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu has described the not-too-young-to-run bill as ‎a veritable tool for the youth to take their rightful place in national polity.

While commending the National Assembly for its nod and subsequent passage of the bill, he called on other stakeholders to embrace the legislation for the sake of political stability and in the interest of Nigeria’s growing democracy.

Speaking with a group of professionals comprising mainly youths in Maryland, United States of America, he cautioned the younger generation against violence, drug abuse and other social vices, and informed them that the youth are not only leaders of tomorrow but also leaders of today.

“Youths need to unite as formidable team in politics, business and other pursuits. Bringing together talents and strengths of the youth will go a long way in developing and sustaining a robust global economy.

“I am always pained to see intelligent boys and girls taking to the wrong side of life as a result of peer influence. The time is now for the youth to turn a new leaf by exhibiting high level of decorum and discipline in their endeavours.

“I urge the youth to be visionary while putting in their best in all they do.”

Kalu ended his remarks with the popular saying: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.
