Ahead of the matchday 2 South-west derby showdown against the Sunshine Stars of Akure, former Nigerian international, Dimeji Lawal has expressed confidence that the Oluyole Warriors will stun the Akure Gunners at Akure Township Stadium today.

The ex-international who is also the club’s team manager in a chat with Daily Sunsport assured that the Oluyole Warriors will give a good account of themselves and ensured that they return to Ibadan with 3 maximum points. “ Although, nothing is sure in football but we are going to give our best and work very hard for victory. We are going to give a very good account of ourselves and show the stuff we are made of and i can assure you that we will come back with the maximum points,” he said.

3SC opened the account of the 2016/2017 NPFL season on a victory note after seeing off Lobi Stars of Makurdi by 2-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Speaking on the aim of the club for this new season, Lawal disclosed that challenging for the top four as the main target of the five-time Nigerian league champions while soliciting for the unflinching support of the fans towards achieving the objective.

“ I can assure you that this season we are aiming higher and we’re not going to struggle like we did last term. I also want to appeal to 3SC fans all over the world to continue to support us and not to lose hope in the club.”

“ Soon we shall have the last laugh on the club. 3SC is a club with a tradition, legacy and history and will soon be back on its feet.”

Having returned to the elite division in the 2012/2013 season, 3SC has had to struggle for topflight survival as they narrowly escaped relegation in the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons respectively.
