The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to stay at home in their own interest following their threat to lure other well-meaning citizens of the South East to boycott the February 16 presidential, Senate and House of representative elections.
Addressing newsmen at the Imo State command, the team leader for the election in the state and a representative of the National Commander, Adams Soja, disclosed that his men were ready to ensure that IPOB did not pose any threat during the conduct of the elections.
Soja equally disclosed that 4,600 officers and men drawn from the headquarters, Abuja, and the zonal command were already in the state to compliment the efforts of those at the home front.

According to Soja “it is better for the IPOB group not to come out at all, because we are prepared for them; members of the public should not be afraid to come out and exercise their civic right, our men are on ground to handle the situation.”
He, however, warned politicians to comport themselves throughout the exercise, while also advising miscreants to stay away from voting points.
Soja also noted that NSCDC is working harmoniously with other security agencies to ensure violent-free elections.
Similarly, NSCDC state commandant, Ibrahim Raji, has disclosed that speedboats have been stationed at water areas of the state to combat militants hoping to disrupt the elections.
