The Provost of Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, Dr. Philips Nto has commended the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on the success and peaceful conduct of the State Congress of the party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which produced Rt. Hon Asiforo Okere as the new Chairman.

He said the visionary and pragmatic leadership provided by Governor Ikpeazu as the leader of the party in the state was responsible for the cohesion and progress recorded by the PDP in the last five years.

The former World Bank consultant also congratulated Hon Okere, the Secretary, Barrister David Iro, and the Abia North Zonal Chairman, Chief Amah Abraham and other elected members of the Executive Committee of Abia PDP.

Nto, also a former finance commissioner who was speaking while addressing PDP Stakeholders from Ututu ward who paid him a courtesy call at his country home noted that with the successful state congress, PDP was poised to consolidate its power in Abia.

According to him, the governor has not only provided effective leadership, but has repositioned and strengthened the party for future electoral successes as one family.

He charged the new executive to continue to maintain the unity achieved by the governor for the party in addition to resolving all outstanding issues that arose from the various congresses held by PDP in the State.

The Provost enjoined all PDP members from Ututu Ward to be loyal to Governor Ikpeazu and the new Executive by supporting the programmes of the government and policies of the PDP.

Nto urged them that “All that is expected from us is to be loyal and to give massive support to our unassuming, proactive, productive, sympathetic, and humane governor. He has shown at all times and in all circumstances that he is a leader to trust”
