The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in Kaduna State, Mr Abel Odoba Oche, has emerged in this year’s National Assembly Leadership Award as the best in efficient service delivery among the seven states that make up North West Nigeria.

Mr Odoba also used the opportunity to call on the critical stakeholders including the National Assembly and award presenters to promulgate the approval of the NYSC Trust Fund for improved service delivery and sustainable development of the Nigerian number youth mobilising organisation.

Presenting the award to the recipient at the NYSC temporary orientation camp, Kurmi Marshi, Kaduna, Vice Secretary, Legislative Writers Forum, and Mr Abraham Ugwaje, said Odoba emerged after the search was done among the seven North West Zone.

According to him, Legislative Writers Forum (LWF) has over 50 members spread across conventional and emerging media houses.

Responding, Odoba dedicated the award to the hardworking staff of the scheme in the state saying their unity has been recognised even outside the state.

“In NYSC, we are thought to be the vanguard of national unity. Kaduna State staff are hard-working and we are always looking for where we can improve our services, working as a team, touching lives and modelling characters,” he said.

The state coordinator however thanked members of the organisation for considering Kaduna State and seek for the organisation’s support in propagating the NYSC Trust Fund which will help in alleviating some other challenges encountered in the state.

Earlier, Assistant Director, Human Resource Manager, Mrs LDA Mburi, stated that the recognition didn’t come as a surprise considering the pedigrees of Mr Odoba.

“He is a team leader and a humble individual. He is committed to the course of the scheme in the state. Very genuine comrade, bold and trading in the path of light.

“Today we are celebrating one of the finest leaders in the NYSC and we are proud to identify with you. This is a well-deserved award and we hope to see more of this as he works harder as a reward for the award for more,” she prayed.
