Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has restated the state government’s commitment to promptly pay the salaries of  Edo workers to enable them take care of their welfare.

Obaseki, represented by his Deputy, Mr. Philip Shaibu, gave the advice when he received officials of the Association of Senior Civil Servant of Nigeria Edo State chapter, in Government House, Benin-City, on Friday.

He assured the senior civil servant that all the issues they raised would be addressed.

The governor assured them that government would address the issue of reinstating some of the disengaged staff of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Edo.

He said the state government was committed to all Edo workers’ welfare, adding that they would not derail in paying workers at the end of every month.

The Chairman of the association, Mr. Joe Amokhai, appealed to the government to reopen Edo pensions’ board for easy processing of pensions and gratuities for pensioners in the state. (NAN)
