Gospel music maestro, Evangelist Jacob Kunle Ajomale, will celebrate the anniversary of his 30 years on stage on Sunday, August 27. The event will take place at Academy Inn, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos. Time is 1pm prompt.
The engineer turned-musician whose late father was a keyboardist, started as a choirmaster in the church. He, however, began his professional career in 1987, during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the then Bendel State.
His debut album, ‘Erinwo’ released in 1987, was a tribute to the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. And since releasing the hit album, the musician has been preaching the gospel across the world through his music.
Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi and Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Adebimpe Akinsola, will lead the train of special guests expected at the event.
“To mark this anniversary, we are giving awards to some prominent people. We are also showcasing the up and coming artistes. There will be a talent hunt with special interest in signing-on the best performing artistes that day, on our music label,” Ajomale said.
JKA, as his admirers and fans fondly call him, has over seven albums to his credit. They include The Comforter, Always By My Side (ABMS), Great Testimony, Jubilee, Higher Ground, and Change among others.
