A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Mike Obieze has urged voters in the state to support businessman and philanthropist, Obinna Uzor who is an aspirant on the platform of the party.
Obieze, who led some APC members to a solidarity visit to Uzoh in Awka, said that the state needs Uzoh to reposition it through industrialization, capacity building, agricultural revolution, provision of infrastructure and provision of health facilities.
He said: “Uzoh will make Anambra great again. He has done so much for the state from his personal resources for over 30 years. He is a leading aspirant in the APC and by God’s grace, when he emerges candidate, APC will win the governorship election scheduled for November 18, 2017.
“We will mobilize and lobby other party loyalists towards ensuring that Uzoh gets the APC ticket at the primaries and eventually win the election. Anambra must get it right this time around. We cannot afford to lose the services of this illustrious son of the state at this time the country is trying to come out of recession. As a self made man who built his company, GOCUZ Group, from nothing to a conglomerate to be reckoned with, the state will benefit a lot from his wealth of experience as a private entrepreneur who have offered himself to replicate his midas touch in the state”.
He further stated that Uzoh, as a philanthropist has used his resources for the services of God and humanity. “His milk of human kindness cuts across all the sections of the state and beyond. He does not discriminate either in the area of religion nor locality.
“He has built churches, hostels for students, given scholarships to students both at secondary and tertiary levels and has supported the less privileged through financial assistance and starting businesses for them, through his foundation, Obinna Uzoh Foundation. Having done all these things as a private person with his personal resources, you can then imagine what he will do for the state with the state resources. This is the type of person Anambra state needs now for the unification of the state and total turnaround of the economy of the state.”
In his response, Uzoh thanked them for the trust and confidence they have on him to reposition the state. He informed them that he will not disappoint them; that the journey has just started and with their collective effort and support, he will win. He urged them to continue their good work by reaching out to other party delegates towards ensuring that he wins the party primary which is the first hurdle towards making Anambra Great Again.
