The former British/Commonwealth boxing champion, Peter Oboh, has appealed to Britons to exercise patience with their new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

Felicitating with Sunak, who entered 10 Downing Street on Tuesday following the exit of former Prime Minister Liz Truss, Apostle Oboh said people must learn to exercise patience with their leaders, especially when they are new in office.

“I use this opportunity to congratulate the new UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. I believe he has lots of good plans for Britain if only the people can be patient with him,” he stated.

The former pugilist turned-cleric said further: “We must learn to be patient with our leaders when they are new in office. It is difficult to know a good leader from their first few weeks in office. Sometimes, it takes at least six months for the good plans of a leader to begin to manifest. The former Prime Minister Liz Truss was good. And now the big question is: How long will Mr. Sunak be allowed to operate as Prime Minister? So, my advice is that if the Conservative Party or any rival party in Britain wants to remain in power, there must be unity of purpose.”
