Nigerian sprinter and five -time African junior champion, Divine Oduduru has announced his return to athletics activities after going off the radar for over a year.

The 25-year -old World Youth championship record holder has been absent from the athletics scene since his return from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

He was not part of the Team Nigeria to the Mauritius 2022 African Athletics Championships, as well as the World Championships and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

In a post on his official Instagram page @divine_oduduru, the four-time NCAA champion, explained that he is gutted about missing major international events, adding that he is looking forward to putting his injuries behind him and returning to action.

“I’m sure you’ve all been wondering why I haven’t been competing this season.

“Unfortunately, parts of being a top athlete means you also have to endure the pain of going through injuries that you don’t expect. Missing the world Championships and other major events is disappointing.

“The good news is that I’m on the track to recovery and looking forward to putting the setback behind me.

“Thank you all for the continued support. Mr I never experred It is coming back stronger,” he wrote.
